Wristband Retention

SenTAG wristbands can be detected by a matched 'reader' whenever they are bought within range. This feature can prevent unauthorised wristband removal from site by warning both the wearer and operator staff in much the same way that retail stores do with RFID technology when tacking product theft. The effective range of the SenTAG reader can be adjusted between a few centimetres to over 15 metres. This allows simple, low cost protection.
Some operators adopt a different approach and impose a financial deposit. This is taken at the point of swim purchase and refunded when the swimmer leaves the premises. The wristband acts as a ticket on site and the refund is made at the time of departure. This can even be done automatically by depositing wristbands in a special 'vending machine' type unit. This reads the ID and status of the wristband and refunds the deposit simply and without fuss. Retrieved wristbands are checked automatically and are immediately ready for re-issue. The machine check approach requires NO CHANGE to working patterns or additional front desk administration.
